Therapist & Advocate
I’m a firm believer that you can consciously create the life you want and I’m here to help you pursue that.
My career in Social Work started long before my Masters in Social Work. I was the one that friends and family turned to when they needed a listening ear, compassionate voice and a space to be genuine. Originally struggling to find a path that worked for me in my youth, I relied on my support network to empower me to find a fulfilling career helping others. As I sifted through the unfair systems and dominant voices in society which create self-doubt, self-judgment and confusion, I found opportunities, my voice and clarity.
Throughout this important struggle, I quickly realized that:
These are the things that I incorporate into my approach to support others.
The combination of these experiences is what led to me formally pursuing the path to become a Social Worker as one of my purposes in life.
In my spare time, I like to spend time away from societal noises and deep dive into silence, prayer, and inner reflection. I also enjoy nature walks, reading, and spending time with my family.
Now, I help to empower people to maintain the relationships that matter most, develop coping skills to effectively manage relationships, develop a deeper fulfillment and create a long lasting change.
Motivational Speaker & Advocate
Travis first started motivational speaking at the age of 7 when he had an audience of one – his mother. When she would come home after working 12 hour shifts and caring for 4 children on her own, he would smile and say “Thank you Mom, for working hard for us every day”.
Travis’ audience quickly grew to include his peers as they informally learned of his unique abilities and gifts. He would readily read books aloud and speak to children his age or younger. Fast forward, 30 years, this audience of one has since multiplied. Nevertheless, Travis never loses sight of touching the lives of one person at a time.
As a Motivational Speaker and Advocate, Travis has a passion for working with youth – speaking, sharing, and guiding them to fulfill their life’s purpose. Travis has over 10 years experience working in priority neighbourhoods with children and youth with mental health, substance misuse issues, learning disabilities, and/or those involved with the foster care or youth justice system. He has experience working in partnership with schools, religious organizations, community centres, food banks, shelters and other social service agencies. For example, in 2015, Travis and Shanna-Kay delivered a motivational speech at Black History Month celebration at Ascension of Our Lord Secondary School in Malton, Ontario.
Travis’ unique combination of authenticity, humor, life experiences, common-sense life strategies and ‘walking his talk’, makes his words and non-words captivating, moving, and life-changing. He enjoys speaking engagements at social services agencies, corporations, religious organizations, schools, conferences, and other special events. Travis enjoys speaking about capturing “The Moment” in life and believes one should seize it. Contact him to find out more.
We want to showcase all the amazing organizations that we’ve worked with and that we are a part of who believe in empowering families and communities like we do. We are a black owned business and like to support other black owned businesses as well.
We believe that if you want to go somewhere fast, then go alone but if you want to go far, then go with a group which is why we welcome the opportunity to work with partners and influencers as we continue to help individuals, families and couples.
In an effort to share our services with the Black Community and meet other Black Owned Businesses, we attended Black Expo 2023. Click the video to see Shanna-Kay’s interview at the event.
